Want to learn more about single colour LED Strip Lights? Well you've come to the right place. As experts on LED lighting, we know everything there is to know about single colour LED Strip Lights.
Available in a range of brightnesses, single colour LED Strip Lights can be used for a wide variety of applications including under cabinet lights, shelf lights, mirror lighting and pelmet lighting. Primarily, they are used as background or secondary lighting, where the aim of the lighting is to complement and contribute to the existing lighting scheme. For best effect it is good to keep the lighting subtle and to keep the lights themselves hidden. In the industry we called this concealed lighting. For this reason the light is often indirect, reflecting off or washing against a surface before it reaches our eyes.
Single colour LED Strip Lights come in two main colours; warm white and cool white. Strictly speaking, these aren't colours, but rather whitish hues. Warm white gives a soft, yellowish light. Cool white gives a clear, bright light. A third option called Daylight White is also available, although it is not as common, and can be best described as a blend of both warm and cool white.
Many people assume that LED Strip Lights can only be used in a straight line, like a fluorescent tube, but this isn't true. They are flexible, which means they can be attached to uneven surfaces fairly easily. They can also be cut to length. If you have a cabinet or shelf of a particular size it is quite possible that the single colour LED Strip Lights can be made to fit the exact dimension. You can cut them yourself, which is fairly straightforward, but if you prefer us to do it for you, just let us know!
Installation is also fairly uncomplicated. Single Colour LED Strip Lights come with a 3M self adhesive backing and can be stuck directly to the under side of cabinets, shelves and plinths.
Single Colour LED Strip Lights are normally sold in 5 metre reels. We sell our strip lights on a per metre basis. This means you are only getting exactly the amount you need for your installation; no more, no less!
It's also worth remembering that single colour LED Strip Lights are rated 12V DC. This means they can't be run directly from the mains voltage in your home, which is 240V AC. A unit called an LED Driver is therefore required to step down the voltage and convert the current from AC to DC. It is important that you only use an LED Driver and not a transformer which isn't compatible.
