LED Strip Lights are renowned for their flexibility. It is one of the main characteristics that sets them apart from other types of lighting. But how flexible are they exactly?
To get some idea of how flexible LED Strip Lights are, imagine a tape measure. While it is very easy to bend a tape measure vertically, i.e. up or down, it is a bit more difficult to bend it horizontally, i.e. left or right.
LED Strip Lights are pretty much the same, but slightly less rigid compared to a tape measure. They can be folded, bent and effectively screwed up without risk of damaging the strip or the LEDs. Bending them won't effect their light output either, although the direction of the light may change.
However, when it comes to taking a strip light around a 90 degree turn, for example on the underside of some kitchen cabinets, customers tend to have some difficulty. It is easy enough to do this without cutting the strip light by folding the strip light over; just be careful that you don't damage any of the LEDs.
For a neater finish you can cut the strip light and reattach using a corner connector with a piece of 2-core flex cable inbetween. The cable is more flexible than the strip light and will negotiate the corner with ease.
